Sous La Sable
Tom Ford Beauty Sous La Sable Eye Color Quad is a new, lighter-leaning neutral quad that veered a bit rosier overall. Three of the four shades were matte, while one was a softer shimmer, especially applied and blended out. For someone who prefers a sheer wash of color, perhaps this would work for that purpose, but for someone who wants it to perform well for a myriad of looks and uses, it’ll under-perform. It’s definitely one of the weaker quads released in awhile; despite the very silky feel of the eyeshadows, they were prone to sheering out and fading faster than average.
Tom Ford Beauty Sous La Sable #1 Eye Color
Sous La Sable #1
Sous La Sable #1 is a medium, rosy beige with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had good coverage (though it might be hard to tell given how close it appeared to my skin color) in a single pass, but it was soft enough that it sheered out too quickly, which resulted in more semi-sheer coverage in practice (which didn’t build up). It lasted for six and a half hours before it seemed noticeably faded.
Tom Ford Beauty Sous La Sable #2 Eye Color
Sous La Sable #2
Sous La Sable #2 is a light copper with moderate, warm undertones and a soft, frosted finish. The texture was soft and finely-milled, but it was on the thinner side, so it tended to look a little washed out and the shimmer receded into the background once blended, so it appeared more pearly in finish in practice. It had good pigmentation that stayed on well for seven and a half hours before fading visibly.
Tom Ford Beauty Sous La Sable #3 Eye Color
Sous La Sable #3
Sous La Sable #3 is a very light, rosy brown with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had medium coverage that was buildable to semi-opaque pigmentation. The texture was incredibly soft and finely-milled to the touch, but it was more prone to sheering out and diffusing so readily that it was hard to maintain the color. It wore well for seven hours before fading a bit.
Tom Ford Beauty Sous La Sable #4 Eye Color
Sous La Sable #4
Sous La Sable #4 is a medium brown with moderate, warm undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow had good pigmentation in a single layer, which was buildable to full coverage with less than half of a layer on top. The texture was soft, smooth, and finely-milled without being too thin, so this shade didn’t sheer out like the others in the quad. It lasted nicely for seven and a half hours before fading noticeably.
