Drake’s association with Nike dates back to 2013, when the Canadian rapper flaunted two pairs of Air Jordan 10s. Drake has been seen sporting Nike clothing over the years. These include tracksuits, Air Maxes, and other drops developed just for the rapper, like as the Nike Max Plus “For Stage Use” and the Zoom Vomero 5 in a one-of-a-kind colorway.
Drake delivered the bombshell that he will be producing a clothing line with Nike in December 2020, naming the collection “NOCTA”. NOCTA is a collection for the collective, according to Nike’s website. “The form-fitting gear pays homage to sport, but it is founded in and inspired by individuals who prowl the streets, those who are on the go and desire useful, comfortable, and upgraded everyday staples”.
The outfit designs pay homage to Nike’s progress over the years. NOCTA might also refer to the rapper’s “nocturnal creative process”, according to another interpretation. The reflective-design piping, for example, reflects the mood of the night.
For the first release, the line featured four items: a puffer jacket, hoodie, fleece trousers, and socks. The original edition came in two colors: black and yellow. Drake stated in a Nike news release about the partnership, “I mean, growing up, Nike was everything”. Every sneaker I coveted, every athlete I admired, and everything I possessed seemed to be Nike. It didn’t matter until it had a Swoosh”.
The NOCTA line was a huge success, quickly becoming one of Nike’s most popular capsule collections. Fans are clamoring for footwear to complete the outfit after having a taste of the garment line. The pair eventually released their footwear in March. For starters, the Nike NOCTA Hot Step sneakers are available in two colorways: white and black. They include 3M piping, superior pebbled leather, and a colorful Air unit. Overall, the Hot Step is reminiscent of late-90s shoe styles, making it ideal for adding to your spring sneaker rotation.
