Unearthing the iconic 1977 Tennis sneaker from deep within the archives, Creative Director, Alessandro Michele has long embraced the idea of incorporating old design into newer innovations. Be it tapping into recent collaborations with Disney or featuring the brand’s signature “GG” motifs, Gucci’s periodic visits into the past often result in the refreshing rerelease of uniquely refashioned products.
Breathing new life into the 1977 Tennis sneaker, the brand’s latest release features a distinct low-top model in seven new colorways. Offering a selection for both men and women, the new designs incorporate an assortment of recognizable Disney x Gucci Mickey Mouse prints, monogram styles and solid colored sneakers.
Available in navy blue and light blue with dark green and bright orange rubber detailing, respectively, as well as, solid beige, navy and aqua hues with a single green-and-red Gucci stripe down the lateral, and monogrammed red apple and Disney styles – the 1977 Tennis sneaker is currently for sale on the official Gucci website and is worth an approximate USD$562 to USD$626.
