Jordan Brand has paid homage to Michael Jordan‘s alma mater, the University of North Carolina, over the years (UNC). Previous Air Jordan models, such as the 1, 3, 4, 6, and 9, have featured UNC’s signature University Blue. Blue color continues to take center stage for the upcoming Air Jordan 6 ‘UNC’ release. The shoes are white-based with University Blue and navy accents throughout and come in a color blocking design known as “Carmine”. The top features contrasting blue and white colors, while black informs the interior of the footwear as well as the heel pull-tabs.
The tribal pattern, which is common on the Air Jordan 7, is visible on the clear tongue and insoles. On the heels, a location that has been linked to school-inspired releases such as the ‘Oregon’ and ‘Michigan’ Air Jordan 5s can be seen. This scholastic mark was most recently seen on the Air Jordan 4 ‘UNC’.
The Air Jordan 6 ‘UNC’ continues the brand’s Retro releases. The inspiration for the various releases comes from the Player Version, where prestigious college athletic programs such as Michigan, Oregon, and Georgetown are regularly represented. The Air Jordan 6 ‘UNC,’ dubbed one of the most anticipated releases of 2022, is set to release on March 5 in full family sizing. Order your own pair from GOAT or Flight Club.
