STUDY: GOL and heavy metal lovers are most likely to use drugs and alcohol during shows

According to research, fans of heavy metal and electro-erosion will be the most enlightened during shows.

A new study reveals that 62.2% of heavy metal fans are intoxicated during concerts. Compare that to 58.7% of hip hop participants, 46.6% of the country’s fans and only 39.8% of pop fanatics.

Probably inebriated at one event – EDM fans. In fact, EDM is among the top three drugs considered: alcohol, marijuana, MDMA, hallucinogens, cocaine and opioids (except benzodiazepines).

Drug use is more common among fans of heavy metal and EDM, but the reasoning differs dramatically. According to research, 41% of heavy metal fans say they use drugs at shows to reduce their social anxiety. Meanwhile, EDM fans are split between drug use to increase their energy, to enjoy the show more and / or to connect with the performer on stage.

Unsurprisingly, MDMA is much more prevalent in EDM shows (25.6%) than in other major genres that rub it. Reggae is at 4.8% and independent rock at 3.0%.

Do not forget that this survey only collected information on 976 people. The size of the sample is therefore not very representative. But you see the idea.

It may be a good time to add that you do not need to use drugs or alcohol to have a good time.
