Stenströms Celebrates 120 Years with Collection
2019 marks the 120th anniversary for Swedish fashion establishment Stenströms. In recognition of the landmark occasion, a one-off collection will be launched in stores this October with specially designed shirts – only in white. With timelessness and design at its heart, Stenströms showcases heritage and craftsmanship as well as innovation incorporating organic linen, cotton/tencel and jaquard woven fabrics with classic cuts, providing durable garments which stand the test of time.
With quality and fit of the upmost importance, the garments not only convey a unique feeling for those who wear them, but also stand for a sustainable longevity. With 120 years of experience in sustainable craftsmanship, the company looks forward to taking its philosophy into the future.
“Since the very start, Stenströms is a brand that has been used by men of all ages,” says Peter Jüriado, head designer for men at Stenströms. “In the beginning it was sea captains as well as young successful men who wore our shirts, today maybe you buy your first shirt for a job interview. Whatever the occasion, we offer a range of quality shirting that caters for our wide range of customers, meaning that we can stay faithful to them throughout their lives for any situation,” he adds.
Consisting of only white garments, the 120 Years Anniversary collection features two shirts co-designed by well-known Swedish magazine publisher King. In addition, part of the collection sees Stenströms collaborate with the world’s leading fabric and button manufacturers, who have made significant investment in recent years to limit environmental impact. The production of shirts take place at modern facilities in Europe where legislation related to the use of chemicals, purification of water and working conditions is the most stringent in the world. These values are something that both Stenströms and their customers value highly.
“Stenströms today is an international company, represented in more than twenty countries,” says Fredrik Strandberg, CEO of Stenströms. “We are a genuine and unique brand that has rested on the same basic values for 120 years, and our passion for manufacturing quality garments that last over time means that the interest in Stenströms today is greater than ever before. We look forward with confidence to the next 120 years,” he adds.
