Sam Gellaitry‘s rebirth of his artist project has been a joy to witness over the last few years, as he’s gradually melded the sounds of his catchy hip-hop beats from the SoundCloud era into sophisticated, disco + funk adjacent bangers. VF Vol II, Sam’s most recent mixtape, includes a little bit of everything, from “New Wave,” Sam’s take on an 80’s disco atmosphere reminiscent of a “The Weeknd” production, to “Name to a Face,” pure bouncy hip-hop.
