REAPER Teases Upcoming EP with Single “BARRICADE” on Monstercat

This new drum and bass track from REAPER will hit you different. The mysterious producer who dons an eerie skull-like mask has been dropping absolute heat on the Monstercat label since last year. In this time, he dropped his first EP Rapture, collaborated with the likes of WHIPPED CREAM and Awoltalk, and remixed tracks from Krewella, What So Not, Delta Heavy, and more. Despite all this under his belt in a less than a year’s time, REAPER is delivering another ferocious cut of D&B to kick off the month with “BARRICADE.”

Relative to earlier entries in the REAPER discography which can be described as aggressive or vicious, “BARRICADE” harnesses some restraint over its sound design. By no means, however, does it mean that “BARRICADE” does not unleash a tenacious level of untethered bass and slapping kicks. The latest single from REAPER is akin to controlled chaos. Where previous tunes had a focus on technical cuts to create short punches in his drum and bass pieces, “BARRICADE” has plenty of more room to breathe in its production choices. In short, you should become well-acquainted with this blowing up D&B star if you haven’t already.

“BARRICADE” also serves as the first single of an upcoming sophomore EP for REAPER. That EP should be due by the end of April and is sure to be a fire hit as the drum and bass genre has recently surged in popularity in the U.S.
