Palace, a London-based skatewear company, announced a cooperation with Arc’teryx, an outdoor sports label, in December 2020, to develop a suite of products that bridges the skating and hiking cultures. With its items integrating some of the greatest technological advances from both brands, the move between city and mountain surroundings is now effortless.
As many of us were quarantined due to the virus, fashion‘s love with gorpcore blossomed. The yearning to reconnect to the great outdoors hit a new high, and several manufacturers took advantage of the chance to develop collections specifically to satisfy this newfound obsession. Arc’teryx has evolved from an underground label known only to a select few to a tastemaker whose products are now worn by a slew of celebrities.
Arc’teryx’s first fashion cooperation will be for this capsule. The collaboration highlights the historically irrelevant and anarchic essence of both cultures. This new line, which includes Gore-tex rainproof jackets, puffers, beanies, hoodies, climbing trousers, and fanny packs, contains dual-logos from both businesses and is designed to be worn in both rural and urban settings.
