NARS Naked Paradise Satin Lip Pencil Set NARS Naked Paradise Satin Lip Pencil Set
NARS Naked Paradise Satin Lip Pencil Set is a new, limited edition set exclusive to Nordstrom. At the time of writing this post, it was showing as sold out online, but you may still be able to find it at your local store (or it might come back into stock). All four shades were similar to past experiences with the formula; they had good pigmentation, were comfortable and easy to apply, and had solid wear times with Vahine falling a bit short and the other three performing quite well.
Vahine is a brighter, medium pink with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. It had good color payoff–just shy of full coverage–that applied fairly evenly, but it had a little more slip than other shades I’ve tried in the formula (including the rest in the set), so there was very slight streaking along the edges and a bit of product that sunk into my lip lines. The texture was lightly creamy, emollient, and comfortable to apply and to wear, though. It wore well for four hours and was neither drying nor hydrating while worn.
Tahaa is a muted, medium-dark pink with strong, warm undertones and a satin sheen. It had nearly opaque color coverage that applied well to my lips with smooth, even color that didn’t sink into my lip lines. The pencil had a lightweight, lightly creamy texture that skated across my lips but was firm enough to maneuver along the edges for a crisp line. This shade lasted well for four and a half hours on me and felt non-drying.
Raiatea is a muted, medium brown with warmer, slightly rosy undertones and satin finish. The pigmentation was opaque in one stroke, while the consistency was smooth, lightly creamy (without being prone to melting or feeling slippery when applied) and glided across my lips easily. The pencil was easy to work with and comfortable to apply. It stayed on nicely for four and a half hours and was neither drying nor hydrating over time.
Morea is a medium-dark mauve with cool undertones and a satin finish. It had rich pigmentation in a single layer, which applied evenly and smoothly over my lips. The texture was lightly creamy without melting too readily, so the pencil retained its shape while still delivering comfortable application. The color applied evenly and didn’t emphasize my lip lines. It wore well for five hours and was neither drying nor hydrating over time.
