“Musical Chairs Mixtape Vol. 1” By ZHU
ZHU‘s current album, DREAMLAND, was published last year, and it was followed by a deluxe version that includes two completely new songs – “Coral.PINK (with Trombone Shorty)” and “Mannequins & Egos” – as well as five previously released tunes that were not included on the original album. He’s been travelling and doing performances since then, but hasn’t released any new songs.
Musical Chairs Mixtape (Vol. 1) contains seven brand-new tracks that cover a wide range of moods, styles, and tempos, all linked together by ZHU’s atmospheric production and unique vocals. Mr. Carmack (“Wet”), Channel Tres, Kiko Franco, Boy Matthews, partywithray, Phil Scully, Bava, sillygirlcarmen, Rush Davis, JADED, Mitch Bell, and Aaron Leibowitz all contribute to the upbeat “Unbothered.” The mixtape also features the moving, dramatic “I Wonder,” in which ZHU wonders what happened to someone from his past. The song has been the most requested of all the new tunes ZHU debuted at his EDC Las Vegas event in May.
