MAC x Stranger Things The Void Eyeshadow Palette

The Void

MAC The Void Eyeshadow x 8 Palette is a new, limited edition eyeshadow palette comprising three matte hues that were blendable and simple to work with, if a bit powdery or sheerer, and five shimmer eyeshadows that were less enjoyable to work with. The shimmers were thicker and denser, making them stiffer and more difficult to fade out smoothly.

The Mothergate

The Mothergate is a duochrome with a deeper, reddish-brown foundation with shimmer that shifts from blue to green. In fact, it had a satin-like shine, since the shimmer seemed to fade after a few minutes of application.

Opaque color coverage
Moderately dense, somewhat thick texture that was stiffer
Doesn’t pick up evenly with brush, best applied with fingertips
Harder to blend edges of darker shades due to texture
Average-wearing (seven to eight hours of wear, prone to fading)

The Void

The Void is a matte soft medium black with neutral-to-cool undertones. It was particularly prone to fallout, despite being quite simple to blend, thus someone who like a very soft black may appreciate its sheerness.

Medium, somewhat pigmentation
Soft, finely-milled consistency, moderately powdery
Blendable but prone to fallout and sheering out
Average-wearing (seven and a half hours)

Demo Bat

Demo Bat is a pale-medium spring green with warmer undertones and a glossy shine. It seemed more metallic at first, but the sheen faded quickly to become more modest.

Opaque color coverage
Moderately dense, somewhat thick texture that was stiffer
Doesn’t pick up evenly with brush, best applied with fingertips
Harder to blend edges of darker shades due to texture
Average-wearing (seven to eight hours of wear, prone to fading)

Code Red

Code Red is a medium-dark reddish-copper with a somewhat faded finish and delicate, warm undertones.

Semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation
Soft, finely-milled consistency, lightly powdery
Blendable, easy to work with
Long-wearing (eight hours on average for this formula)

Demogorgon

Demogorgon is a matte light-medium mauve with neutral-to-cool undertones. However, it appeared harsher than previous Powder Kiss finishes.

Medium, somewhat pigmentation
Soft, finely-milled consistency, moderately powdery
Blendable, light fallout
Long-wearing (eight hours on average for this formula)

Creel House

Creel House is a richer navy blue with cool undertones and a silky sheen. The recipe is meant to have a wet effect in terms of intensity, but when applied, the shimmer seemed to dissipate, leaving a more satin-like finish behind.

Opaque color coverage
Moderately dense, somewhat thick texture that was stiffer
Doesn’t pick up evenly with brush, best applied with fingertips
Harder to blend edges of darker shades due to texture
Average-wearing (seven to eight hours of wear, prone to fading)

Spores

Spores is a pale golden beige with warm undertones and a glossy finish.

Mostly opaque color coverage
Moderately dense, somewhat thick texture that was stiffer
Doesn’t pick up evenly with brush, best applied with fingertips
Harder to blend edges of darker shades due to texture
Average-wearing (seven to eight hours of wear, prone to fading)

Mind Flayer

Mind Flayer is a light-medium taupe with warmer undertones with a grayish-bronze shimmer and subtle glitter. It was somewhat thinner than the other colours in the palette, making it easier to apply, but it was still thicker than other shimmer hues on the market.

Opaque color coverage
Moderately dense, somewhat thick texture that was stiffer
Doesn’t pick up evenly with brush, best applied with fingertips
Harder to blend edges of darker shades due to texture
Average-wearing (eight hours of wear, prone to fading)
