Kylian Mbappé has just signed a multi-year partnership with Oakley, as the Paris Saint-Germain football player “continues to expand his cross-cultural collaboration portfolio” following his recent announcement as Dior‘s new Global Ambassador. Mbappé, who is 23 years old, has teamed up with Oakley to launch a new campaign called “Be Who You Are,” which includes a short film that chronicles Mbappé’s incredible journey and highlights his defiant individual spirit.
The film “Be Who You Are” tells the story of a young boy from the suburbs of Paris who dreams of returning to the world stage with a World Cup victory. The film highlights Mbappé’s dedication and perseverance while also honoring the person he is outside of the game.
“Everyone knows what I’m all about in football – now, I’m excited to partner with a brand that wants to share my story off the field and support what I want to do to help inspire global youth,” Kylian Mbappé said.
“In many ways, I identify with Oakley’s attitude – the disruptive, innovative spirit, and the desire to effect positive change. The message of “Be Who You Are” spoke to me deeply, and I want to help others develop that sense of self-confidence and belief in themselves.”
Off the field, Kylian Mbappé will continue to support Oakley’s iconic lifestyle eyewear collection, which includes the new Kato model, and will continue to do so for years to come.
Caio Amato, Oakley’s global marketing director, said, “We live in a world that constantly invites us to see athletes as untouchable idols.” “However, at Oakley, we believe that athletes are measured not only by their physical strength, speed, or accuracy, but also by their emotional strength, kindness, and empathy.” And that is what Kylian represents to us: a great human being who recognizes his role as a leader and inspiration to future generations to believe in themselves and be true to themselves.”
