Magazines have a tendency to get it oh so wrong when covering Kerry Washington (look to Allure, ELLE and Glamour), but Marie Claire and InStyle (2015’s shameful skin lightening controversy aside) have always done the actress justice. Now Kerry is back fronting InStyle for March 2020 wearing Dries Van Noten picked by Law Roach for the glorious newsstand cover shot (below), while striking a pose in Louis Vuitton for the subscribers’ alternative (after the jump) both captured by Sebastian Faena.
The covers felt like a breath of fresh air. “Possibly the best Kerry has looked on a cover so far! It is a gorgeous spring cover and makes me look forward to the warmer weather,” praised dodencebt.
“Stunning! Thanks for saving the month of March,” Urban Stylin applauded.
“To be 100 percent honest, nothing will ever compare to Kerry’s cover of U.S. Marie Claire for me, but this is a solid cover nonetheless. The vibrant colors are gorgeous, sure to stand out on the newsstand and despite it feeling more summery as opposed to spring, everything works beautifully,” approved vogue28.
“I want to buy the second cover. I hope it’s not subscription only. Beautiful cover,” said glamrockgal.
“Kerry looks beautiful, as always, but I sort of wish there was more fashion on the cover of their fashion issue. What she’s wearing looks extremely generic,” KINGofVERSAILLES called out.
“Generic? She’s wearing Dries! Better than Dolce,” replied longliveamour.
Handbag Queen called the covers “gorgeous” and we certainly agree.
