Aside from being one of the richest men in the world, Jeff Bezos now boasts the biggest sailing yacht in the world. A sprawling 417 feet yacht with three masts, known as Y721 was first spotted in the Zwijndrecht shipyard in West Netherlands and consists of three enormous decks. Bezos chose yacht builder Oceanco to create a magnificent yacht based on Oceanco’s Black Pearl ship, which is known to be the world’s largest and most ecological yacht. Taking a page from the Black Pearl’s book, the Y721 will also feature three masts and a bowsprit with a black hull and an elegant silhouette.

Bezos’ superyacht is estimated to be around US$500 million. The yacht features an on-deck swimming pool, a cinema, several lounges, and several business areas spread throughout the three decks. It is also expected to have its own support boat with a helipad. However, Oceanco has kept most details about the yacht under wraps and declined to comment about the yacht or its owner.

According to Daily Mail, Oceanco said: “Oceanco values the privacy and confidentiality of all our clients and prospective clients and therefore does not comment on our involvement or non-involvement in specific projects.” Bezos’ superyacht will be ready to sail in 2022 after undergoing sea trials. It will overtake the current largest ocean-going passenger ship, Sea Cloud.
He has also bought a shadow yacht — which is used to carry cars and helicopters while at sea — that will be a custom version of the YS 7512 model from Damen Yachts. Other huge superyachts include the Flying Fox, the world’s largest yacht for charter. Built by German yacht builder Lürssen. The Flying Fox features two helipads, a spa with health and wellness facilities that span two decks, and a cinema, and first-ever cryosauna installed on a yacht.
