The ColourPop So Fly 9-Pan Pressed Powder Shadow Palette is a new, limited-edition palette that is currently only available at Ulta (at least for now!). There are five matte eyeshadows (one with some sparkles) and four shimmer eyeshadows in this set. Though I don’t believe it encapsulates a dragonfly theme to the best of the brand’s abilities from a color story perspective, there was a good amount of contrast between depth and finish. The eyeshadows were pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing in general, with a few shades prone to fallout.
The base of Flight Path is a light yellowy gold with pink pearl scattered throughout. It had a semi-opaque color payoff that could be made opaque with a dampened brush or fingertip application. During the initial application, the texture was soft, loosely pressed, and had a hint of fallout. It lasted for eight hours before starting to fade.
Sky Dive is a light-medium yellowy-peach with warm undertones and a faint pink micro-sparkle that runs through the entire palette. The texture was thicker than I expected, and it was difficult to pick up with a dry brush or smooth out on my lid. It had an opaque color payoff that lasted for eight hours before noticeable fading.
Darker beige with warm undertones and a matte finish, Dragon Tale is a darker beige. Although the texture was noticeably firmer/stiffer to work with and I had to push at the surface a bit to pick up product, it had opaque color payoff that applied evenly to bare skin and blended out well. It stayed put for about eight hours before starting to fade.
Over a matte finish, Speedy is a brighter, peachy coral with warm undertones and flecks of barely-there sparkle. Despite the random sparkles, it had a soft, lightly powdery texture that was blendable and had minimal fallout. It had opaque pigmentation that lasted for eight hours before starting to fade a little.
ColourPop FYI Pressed Powder Shadow
FYI is a rich, reddish-brown base with a metallic finish and green-to-gold shifting shimmer. It had a silky, almost cream-like texture that picked up beautifully with a dry brush. The eyeshadow had an opaque color payoff that lasted for eight hours before showing signs of fading.
Colourful is a vibrant medium coral-orange with a matte finish and strong, warm undertones. It had a finely milled, smooth, and lightly velvety texture, making it denser but not powdery. It had a single layer of opaque pigmentation that lasted for eight hours before visibly fading.
Depart is a medium-dark brown with a matte finish and moderate, warm undertones. It had opaque pigmentation and a smooth, velvety texture in the pan that was slightly powdery but not prone to fallout. It lasted for eight hours before starting to fade.
Wing Tip is a deep teal with a pearl finish and subtle, cool undertones. The single-layer eyeshadow was densely pigmented and adhered well to bare skin. The texture was silky smooth, slightly emollient but not overly so. It lasted for eight hours before visibly fading.
Damselfly is a deep taupe-brown with a matte finish and neutral undertones. The texture was soft, smooth, and not too powdery, though it was a touch thinner than the other mattes in the palette. It had rich color coverage that adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out nicely. It lasted for eight hours before noticeably fading.
