ColourPop Malibu Barbie 15-Pan Shadow Palette

Malibu Barbie

ColourPop Malibu Barbie 15-Pan Shadow Palette is a new, limited edition eyeshadow palette that included eight matte shades and seven shimmer shades. Most shades were pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing without being a challenge to use, but there were a few shades that were more powdery or sheerer.

Cali Girl

Cali Girl is a pale, white gold with warmer undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. The texture was lightly emollient with a smooth feel to it, which helped it apply evenly to bare skin and have the sparkles adhere without fallout. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that stayed on nicely for eight hours.

Vintage Doll

Vintage Doll is a pale pink with subtle, cool undertones and flecks of bluish-pink micro-sparkle. It had semi-opaque color coverage with a more powdery, almost chalky, consistency that made it hard to apply the product evenly.

Come On

Come On is a light-medium, golden bronze with strong, warm undertones and a metallic finish. It had opaque pigmentation with a smooth, lightly creamy texture that was dense but not too thick or too firmly-pressed into the pan. The color showed signs of fading after eight hours of wear.

Let’s Go Party

Let’s Go Party is a medium-dark coral-orange with warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was somewhat powdery, which resulted in some fallout and some sheerness when blended out. It had mostly opaque, buildable pigmentation that wore well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Shine On

Shine On is a light, golden brown with strong, warm undertones and a bright, metallic finish. It had an incredibly smooth, almost cream-like texture that wasn’t overly dense. It had rich color payoff that lasted well for eight hours before creasing slightly.

West Coast (Malibu Barbie)

West Coast (Malibu Barbie) is a bright, medium-dark yellow with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque color coverage that was buildable to full coverage with a second layer. The texture was slightly thin with light powderiness, though it blended out without much effort and wasn’t prone to fallout. There were signs of fading visible after eight hours of wear.

Best Coast

Best Coast is a bright, medium-dark fuchsia pink with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque, buildable pigmentation with a slightly thinner, drier texture, though it wasn’t powdery and blended out without issue but was easier to work with over a primer if one had drier skin. It stayed on well for eight and a half hours before fading and stained my lid slightly.

Follow the Sun

Follow the Sun is a darker pink with cool undertones and cooler, fuchsia micro-sparkle. It had mostly opaque color coverage that could be built up to full coverage if applied with a dampened brush or fingertip. The texture was lightly emollient, smooth to the touch, and dense without being too firmly-pressed or too thick to work with. It wore well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Malibu Memories

Malibu Memories is a light-medium blue with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque color payoff that built up over primer but not bare skin. The texture was thin, slightly drier, and as a result, felt stiffer and wasn’t as blendable as ideal. There were signs of fading present after eight hours of wear.

Zuma Beach

Zuma Beach is a medium, reddish-brown with moderate, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had rich color coverage paired with a soft, smooth consistency that was a touch powdery in the pan but blended out beautifully in practice. It lasted well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Make Waves

Make Waves is a medium-dark, yellowed peach with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque pigmentation with a soft, smooth texture that was lightly powdery but wasn’t prone to sheering out too readily. It wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Board Walk

Board Walk is a muted, medium coral with warm, pink undertones and a matte finish. The consistency was soft, lightly powdery but blendable and easy enough to work with. The eyeshadow yielded full color payoff that lasted nicely for eight hours before fading a bit.

Surf’s Up

Surf’s Up is a light, bluish-teal with warmer, green-gold shifting pearl that gave it a metallic finish. The eyeshadow had opaque pigmentation paired with a smooth, lightly emollient texture that wasn’t too firmly nor too loosely-pressed into the pan, so it picked up well with a dry brush and had good adhesion. It wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

1971

1971 is a light-medium, caramel brown with warmer undertones and barely-there pink and gold pearl woven through a more metallic finish. It had opaque pigmentation with a soft, smooth consistency that was slightly more loosely-pressed, so there was a touch of fallout if I wasn’t careful. It wore well for eight hours before fading visibly.

So-Cal

So-Cal is a bright, medium orange with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was slightly powdery and drier, though it applied evenly and blended out without issue on my eye area. It had opaque color coverage that stayed on nicely for eight hours before fading.
