ColourPop Evil Queen & Ursula Matte Lux Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches

Evil Queen

Colour Pop Evil Queen Matte Lux Lipstick is a medium-dark red with strong, cool undertones and a flat, matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation with a dense, slightly firmer consistency that didn’t drag but didn’t feel as velvety as other shades in the range. I didn’t find it uncomfortable to apply or to wear, as it was still lightweight without clinging onto my lips. Thankfully, that also meant that it didn’t emphasize my lip texture or my lip lines. The color was still going strong after six hours of wear, left a strong, reddish stain behind, and was neither drying nor hydrating over time.

Ursula

Colour Pop Ursula Matte Lux Lipstick is a muted, medium-dark burgundy with subtle, cool undertones and a satin finish. It didn’t seem to have the true, matte finish, though I find a lot of the Matte Lux shades have a bit of shine that wears down to a more matte finish within an hour of wear. The texture was smooth, velvety, and dense without being heavy or thick when applied to my lips. It had nearly opaque pigmentation that adhered evenly and didn’t sink noticeably into my lip lines over time. The color stayed on nicely for six hours, left a faint, reddish stain behind, and was neither drying nor hydrating over time.
