Boris Brejcha Releases New EP ‘Butterflies’

The masked virtuoso, Boris Brejcha, has wrapped up his North American Tour and in honor of that he has released a brand new, immersive EP entitled Butterflies . Brejcha has seemingly carved out quite the niche with his particular style and sound. It has garnered him quite the acclaim and listeners have given his brand techno the name “high-tech minimal”. With Butterflies being his third release of the summer it is crystal clear that people can’t seem to get enough of the sheer creativity and masterfulness that this man produces.

The EP opener ‘Redemption’ pairs a chunky, driving bassline with a similarly assertive breakdown. ‘Sternengleiter’ follows and offers the record’s most emotive and hypnotic moments, with title track ‘Butterflies’ closing out the EP, which sees him sculpt eight minutes of delicate, fluttering techno. “As a butterfly you feel free. You can be carried by the wind,” Brejcha enthuses. “The title was created in my winter break, free from all obligations.”

It has become evident that 2019 has been a power house year for Boris Brejcha; multiple releases, a major North American Tour, and performances with other legends such as Sven Vath in Ibiza, and Chris Leibing in LA and Miami. With this sort of momentum I don’t believe we will be seeing this artist stopping anytime soon, we can only patiently await more releases of this caliber. Be sure to check out the full list of tour dates on the Boris Brejcha website in order to catch him when he is in your city. If you can’t make it to one of his shows then you can always keep up with his antics over on his Instagram too!
