Anastasia Norvina Vol. 2 Mini Pro Pigment Palette Review & Swatches

Norvina Mini Vol. 2

Anastasia Norvina Mini Vol. 2 Norvina Mini Pro Pigment Palette ($29.00 for 0.32 oz.) is a new, limited edition nine-pan palette that features two shimmer shades and seven matte shades. The mattes were on the drier side with light to moderate powderiness, though most of them were workable but I’d highly recommend pairing with a lightly hydrating/smoothing primer. The shimmers were both drier and under-performing against most shimmer eyeshadows these days (including ones from the brand).

A1 (Norvina Mini Vol. 2)

A1 (Norvina Mini Vol. 2) is a bright, light-medium yellow with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that was buildable over an eyeshadow primer but not so much on its own. The texture was drier, somewhat powdery, and had light fallout during application but was fairly blendable. It lasted well for seven and a half hours and left a sallow stain behind.

A2 (Norvina Mini Vol. 2)

A2 (Norvina Mini Vol. 2) is a light green with subtle,w arm undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage that did not build up to full coverage without a primer underneath it. The product had a drier, almost chalky texture that emphasized my natural skin texture (almost in the way that heavy frosted lipsticks do on lips) and didn’t blend out as easily as I expected. There was noticeable fading after seven and a half hours of wear.

A3 (Norvina Mini Vol. 2)

A3 (Norvina Mini Vol. 2) is a light-medium orange with strong, warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. There was barely-there pearl throughout that seemed to give it a less-than-matte finish when applied and blended out. The texture seemed a bit drier than average for a matte formula, but it wasn’t as dry as other shades and was easier to use overall. It had opaque color payoff that applied evenly and stayed on well for seven and a half hours for me.

B1 (Norvina Mini Vol. 2)

B1 (Norvina Mini Vol. 2) is a bright, medium-dark orange with warmer undertones and a matte finish. It was intensely pigmented with a smooth, more substantial texture that was a bit powdery in the pan but didn’t suffer from dryness like other shades in the palette. The product applied evenly and blended out well on my skin. It lasted nicely for eight hours before fading visibly.

B2 (Norvina Mini Vol. 2)

B2 (Norvina Mini Vol. 2) is a light gold with warmer undertones and a frosted finish. It had semi-opaque coverage at best but was drier and dusty with a lot of excess product that kicked up in the pan. The product was prone to sheering out during application and never looked that shimmery–it was like my lids ate the shimmer/powder (even though I have normal-to-dry lids, definitely not oily!). There was noticeable fading after seven hours of wear.

B3 (Norvina Mini Vol. 2)

B3 (Norvina Mini Vol. 2) is a deep teal with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. It had rich color payoff with a fairly soft consistency, but it was quite powdery and dry, which made it difficult to apply. The powder emphasized my skin texture, but the real struggle was in how it played with other shades as it tended to lift and create patchiness. It wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably on me.

C1 (Norvina Mini Vol. 2)

C1 (Norvina Mini Vol. 2) is a brighter, medium-dark berry with cool undertones and a matte finish. The product had rich color coverage in a single layer, which applied fairly evenly to bare skin but wasn’t the most blendable or kind to lid texture. It had a tendency to showcase fine lines, so it looked darker within those lines. The texture was slightly drier, moderately powdery, but it held its intensity when applied. It stayed on nicely for nine hours and left a stain behind.

C2 (Norvina Mini Vol. 2)

C2 (Norvina Mini Vol. 2) is a pale chartreuse green with warm, yellow undertones and a frosted finish. It was drier, more loosely-pressed into the pan, and had a ton of fallout. It had to be really pressed onto the skin to stay or else it just disappeared, so I would recommend using it with a dampened brush or over a tacky base. Applied dry, but with a fingertip, resulted in more product below my lid than on it. This shade lasted for six and a half hours before fading noticeably.

C3 (Norvina Mini Vol. 2)

C3 (Norvina Mini Vol. 2) is a muted, medium-dark plummy brown with warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had opaque color payoff that adhered well to bare skin with a smooth, even lay down of color that blended out well along the edges. The texture was soft, lightly powdery but a lot easier to work with than most shades in the palette. It wore well for seven and a half hours before I noticed fading.

Formula Overview

Anastasia Eyeshadow is supposed to be a “finely-milled, highly-pigmented” powder eyeshadow. There are several different finishes, and the performance can be better or worse depending on the finish, though it also ranges from shade to shade. On average, the formula is semi-opaque to opaque, lightly dusty to buttery, wears seven to nine hours, and is fairly blendable. The Metallic and Titanium finishes seem to be the best-performing to me, but there are some really standout mattes and shimmers as well. I have not tried the sparkle, satin, or velvet finishes as extensively as the other finishes, personally.
