Under the new federal regulations, hump stocks are officially and finally banned.
The Trump administration has introduced a new rule that classifies mogul stocks as "slider" devices that allow the "shooter" of a semi-automatic firearm to initiate a cycle. continuous shooting by simply pressing the trigger ". they are considered illegal.
Mogul stocks drew the country's attention after being used by the gunman who opened fire at the Route 91 Harvest music festival, killing 58 people and wounding hundreds of others . Such attachments allow a semi-automatic weapon to fire almost as fast as a machine gun, as one hears in the chilling images of October 1, 2017.
Current bump holders will have 90 days before the new rule comes into force – either to return the devices to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and explosive, to find a way to destroy them.
In addition, fully automatic machine guns remain illegal and strictly controlled in the United States.
The final rule is here.
